For weeks, residents of the High Street have been puzzled by the faint sounds of a saxophone drifting through the air in the dead of night. The mystery was finally laid to rest yesterday when local postman Dave Miller confessed he had been practicing his jazz scales in his detached garage after his wife complained about the noise in the house. "I didn't realize the sound carried over the rooftops," Dave apologized. The village has responded by inviting him to perform at the upcoming summer fête instead.
